Thank You for Joining Us at the 2019 BSCAI Executive Management Conference
The Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) held its Executive Management Conference last month where nearly 300 industry professionals gathered in scenic Broomfield, Colorado, just outside of Denver, for three days of networking and education. This year’s event delivered the same top-notch education that attendees have boasted about in the past and gave ample opportunity to develop new connections.
The event kicked-off on Thursday, May 16, with a variety of optional events, including a golf outing, a peer group session or a tour of the nearby Kärcher North America Headquarters facility. The evening concluded with a welcome reception in the exhibit hall where exhibitors mingled and networked with attendees and customers.
Friday’s events included more dedicated networking time at vendor sessions, progressive networking appointments and the evening reception. Outside of networking opportunities, attendees enjoyed sessions focused on professional development, culture and customer relationships by renowned speakers, both in the BSC industry and outside of it.
To start-off the conference, attendees heard from two insightful women: Kris Boesch, CEO and founder of Choose People, and Janelle Bruland, founder and CEO of MSNW and 2016 BSCAI president.
Kris took cultural savviness to the next level by weaving together valuable content, enlightening stories and tangible tools to improve an organization’s culture, communication and retention. Attendees learned her doable best practices on how to create voluntary collaboration, camaraderie and connection amongst their team.
Janelle followed-up with her afternoon session “The Success Lie: A Proven System to Create the Mindset Shift to Overcome Overwhelm.” She discussed the mindset shift you can use to continually improve yourself and your teams, the three things you can control to help teams love their work and why top performers must always be pursuing big goals.
Attendees enjoyed two more sessions on the final day before departing. To start Saturday morning, Jill Davie, president of TEAM Software, and R. Collie King, III, founder of Kwantek, discussed industry labor trends. They showed retention metrics you should be monitoring and how to capture them. They also shared ways to balance incentive programs between work efficiency and employee engagement and retention.
To close out the conference, award-winning speaker and best-selling author Joey Coleman excited the crowd and introduced attendees to The First 100 Days® methodology — a way of approaching your customer service and customer experience efforts that can turn new customers into lifelong fans. He showcased research and case studies showing the importance of making a great impression and creating a remarkable experience in The First 100 Days of the customer lifecycle.
The BSCAI Executive Management Conference provides a once-a-year opportunity for teams to step out of the daily grind and connect with each other and colleagues from across the nation. After three days of sharing best practices and networking, attendees walked away with a better pulse on the industry and a renewed energy for their career and leadership.
