According to Frank Jacob and Bettina Biebl of Kärcher, the answer is less about flashy standalone technologies and more about how data, automation, and people work together to improve operations.

“Real value is created where AI and robotics do not just bridge the labor shortage but measurably increase operational efficiency,” Jacob says. “The true leverage today lies in the data-driven optimization of entire cleaning cycles.”
Rather than cleaning every space according to a fixed schedule, companies are increasingly using sensors, connected equipment, and AI-driven insights to determine where cleaning is actually needed. Kärcher refers to this approach as “Cleaning on Demand.”
