The BSCAI Stephen H. Swigart Scholarship for Higher Education provides building service contractors and their families an opportunity to pursue higher education. This scholarship promotes the welfare of the public as it relates to the contract cleaning and maintenance industry. Completing just a few semesters of college education can often lead to higher paying jobs and greater job opportunities. And yet, many people find college education courses are out of reach due to the cost of tuition and books.
Education is a core value at Spartan Chemical
and something that is strongly promoted within the organization and extended network of partners. It was natural that Spartan would establish the Stephen H. Swigart Scholarship Program with the BSCAI since the company greatly believes in supporting young people and their pursuit of a higher education.
The BSCAI Stephen H. Swigart Scholarship for Higher Education will be awarded to one student each year who meets or exceeds standards set by the BSCAI committee. The maximum award paid for one school year per individual is $3,000. Scholarships will be available in August, to be used during the immediately following semester and may only be used for tuition and books.
2019’s winner is Genesis Torres-Romero, daughter of a Bravo! Group Services, Inc. employee. Gensis is the first student in her family to attend college. During her high school years, she participated in the swim team, National Honor Club Society, and represented her high school in the BAE System Women in Technology Program. Congratulations, Gensis!
