Advocacy @ Home – How You Can Help Advance the Industry’s Legislative Agenda Locally

The session is education for our members on grassroots lobbying efforts with their local legislative offices. We’ll first cover how to reach out and set up meetings with your lawmaker, educating themselves on their representative’s voting history and how to follow up after the meeting. The second part will focus on how to frame their conversation. This will be things like establishing the general policy positions of the association, providing real world examples of how a specific bill or piece of legislation will affect their business and employees, and how to ask for support from the lawmaker.
